Penny L. Barton, age 59, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Research Medical Center.

She was born April 23, 1960 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of Mylan and Ellen (Pence) Boysen.

Penny graduated from Windsor High School in 1978.

On September 21, 1981, she and Paul Barton were united in marriage. To this union two daughters were born, Shena and Krysten.

Penny is survived by her children, Shena (Ryan) Foster and Krysten (Charon) Barton of Kansas City, MO; her grandsons, Elias Foster and Samuel Barton of Kansas City; her parents, Mel and Ellen Nelson of Warsaw, MO; two sisters, Sheri Adams of Clinton, MO and Carrie Boysen of Warrensburg, MO; and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Barton; her father, Mylan Boysen; and a nephew, Stephen Knifong.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, November 23 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg. Graveside services will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Penny Barton Memorial Fund with checks made payable to Merrill Nelson and can be left in care of the funeral home.
