My great-uncle. I couldn't leave him out of the family just because I don't know where he's buried. I'm about to hire a genealogy detective to find out where he's buried.

Obituary:

Red Bluff, Calif. -- Jed H. White, a decorator from Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon at the county hospital here after an extended illness. He went to Klamath Falls, Oregon, for the benefits of his health, it was stated, but continuing to grow worse, decided to join his brother, Earl White, of White Springs, California. Enroute his condition became so severe that he was forced to stop in Red Bluff and the end came.

The body is at Fickert’s undertaking rooms pending the arrival of the brother of the decedent from Hot Springs. Arrangements for the funeral will not be completed until he comes.

The decedent was 44 years of age, a native of Illinois, and a widower.

(Comment by Sheila White Hughes: It’s possible there’s a typo in this obituary. It mentions that Earl White lives in White Springs, California but then states the undertaker is waiting for Earl to arrive from Hot Springs, California. I think Hot Springs is correct.)

Samuel White's wife was Mary Elizabeth Hoover (16 Oct 1841 - 8 Jun 1915). She was born in Ohio and died in Wilmington, Greene, Illinois. I have not found a burial for her, and although she is my great-grandmother, I do not know who her parents were. It's one of the worst brick walls I've ever experienced.
