Nana Akosua Rose Akata-Daniels, a life-long educationist, passed away the morning of Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Mama Rose, as she liked to be called in her later years, taught Education at several teacher training colleges in Ghana for well over three decades before moving to the US in 2003 to join her son and sister. Mama Rose lived in Iowa City from 2006 until January 2014 when she suffered a severe stroke. She stayed at Broomall Manor, a nursing facility in Broomall Pennsylvania near her sister or the last six years of her life.

Throughout her life, she worked tirelessly to help everyone around her develop to their fullest potential from the education of her students to the mentoring of her friends and family. She even spread her love wisdom to her surroundings- growing beautiful gardens and nurturing the environment every place she lived.

She is survived by her son, Kwadwo Nyarko Asare of Providence, Rhode Island, her sister, Catherine Korte of Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania, brothers Reverend Monsignor Gregory Daniels-Akata and Lucas Akattah of Ghana, and sisters Regina Baduwa Daniels, Mrs. Victoria Kokor and Elizabeth Daniels-Akata of Ghana, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, including Barbara Watson (nee Korte), and Eileen Korte in the US. Mama Rose is also survived by many step-children including Jane Nketiaa Asare and Alexander Osei Bonsu, of New York and Boahema Asare of Chicago, and many "children", grand and great grandchildren all over the world.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Friday, December 6 th 6:00PM-8:00 PM at the Danjolell Barone Memorial Home 908 S. Providence Road Wallingford, PA 19086. And Saturday, December 7th 9:30AM- 10:45AM ;Followed by her Funeral Mass at 11AM (ALL IN CHURCH) St. Georges Church 22 E. Cooke Avenue, Glenolden, PA 19036. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
