James L. “Irvin” Brantner, 71, Altoona, formerly of Williamsburg, died Sunday.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of David Elwood and Mary Elizabeth (Kifer) Brantner. Surviving are 13 siblings: Clyde, Robert D., Thomas S., Daniel, Rose Lear, Diane Crouch, Carol Allen, Bonnie Hammond, Dorothy Hileman, Rebecca Stiffler, Arlene Luke, Nancy Beeler and Catherine Detwiler. He was preceded in death by five siblings: Edna Brantner, Jane Boose, Faye Gorsuch, John and infant Donnie. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday, March 7, 2015, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
