Son of Thomas and Mary Glover. William came to the U.S. in 1869 and first settled in Ironton Ohio but later relocated to New Castle PA where he worked as an iron molder. He was married twice, first to Diana Evans. Diana died in 1889 and William subsequently married Francis Linton who survived. In addition to his wife William was survived by children Carmi L. Glover, Thomas Glover, William Glover Jr., Estell Preston, and Harriet Jone. In addition to his first wife he was preceded in death by a daughter Rachel Preston. Diana was was the mother of all of the children.
