A son of Walter and Maggie Thomas Baum, he married Rose (maiden name not known) at Paris, Illinois on March 20, 1921. Their children: Rosemary Baum, Champaign; LeRoy Baum, Willow Hill; and James Baum, Champaign. He worked several years as a machinist at the Illinois Central roundhouse, and for 24 years was a Champaign Police Officer. He died at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, Illinois, after a long illness.
In a different part of this cemetery I located another stone for Roy Baum. On that stone it lists another wife by the name of Leota M. Stater Baum, 1897-1920. I believe this may be his first wife who died a year before his marriage to Rose.
