Danny Preston Hite, Sr., husband of Lonie Bet Overby Hite, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 8, 2019, at the age of 65. He was born on December 20, 1953 in Halifax County to the late Chester Preston Hite and the late Mildred Hope Hudson Hite. Danny worked as a supervisor at Burlington Industries for a number of years. After the Clarksville plant closed, he worked for the Department of Corrections at Camp 23 in Halifax. Danny enjoyed horseback riding, watching sports, playing music and hanging out with his family and friends. He was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church.

Danny will forever be remembered by his wife of 43 years, Lonie Bet; a son, Danny Hite, Jr. of Clarksville; step-children, Larry Wayne Newby, Connie Elizabeth Wade and Charles Allen Newby; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Additionally he is survived by his sisters, Anna Overbey and Phyllis Cook.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, November 11, 2019 in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with burial to follow at Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverends Bryan Gough and Billy Coghill will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 – 8 P.M. and all other times at the residence.
