N. B. Smith died at his residence in this city, Tuesday night after a long illness.
Mr. Smith was born in Richmond, Va., April 14th, 1852, and was married to Miss Lucinda Shoemake, December 24, 1873.
Funeral services were held at the residence at 2:30 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A V. Rowe. Interment took place in Oakwood cemetery.
The deceased is survived by his wife and the following children: Willie Smith, Columbus, Miss.; Mrs. Bessie Higdon, Holly Springs; Mrs. Jesse Miller, Hickman, Ky., Mrs. Connie Holder, Winona, Miss.; C. Smith, Winona, Miss.
