AMMONS, JAMES LYNN and CAROLYN ANN BAILEY (SUE) -- James, age 42, and Sue, age 37, of Rt. 11, Hill Rd., passed away Sunday evening. Members of New Pleasant Gap Baptist Church, where Mr. Ammons was a deacon, and he also a was member of Bright Hope Lodge, No. 557, F&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, and a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Ammons' Survivors: sister, Mrs. Barbara Turner, Knoxville; brothers, Elmer Ammons, Knoxville, Ralph Ammons, Powell, Sam Ammons, Hendersonville.
Mrs. Ammons' Survivors: mother, Dorothy Bailey, Powell; brothers, John W. Bailey Sr., Carrollton, Ga., Buck Bailey and Charles Lynn Bailey, both of Knoxville; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey, Powell; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, Mynatts Chapel, Rev. Carl Asbury, Rev. Mike Samples officiating. Interment Bethany Cemetery.
Mr. Ammons' Pallbearers: Leon Pickett, Doug Turner, Don Bayless, Alvis Lively, Leahman Jones and Don Padgett, Gary Robinson.
Mrs. Ammons' Pallbearers: Joe Griffin, Alvin See, Jean Ellis, Edward Arnwine, Gary Bailey and Dick Chase.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m Tuesday at Mynatts.
