Born August 3, 1925 in Pasadena, California she taught both Elementary and High School classes in the Pasadena area. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in English but became a die-hard Trojan fan after marrying her husband Chet, a USC graduate. She loved reading, knitting and attending USC football games. One of her fondest memories was attending a USC-ND game in South Bend, Indiana. She lived life to the fullest and resided over the years in Pasadena, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, San Pedro, Hermosa Beach, Tucson (Az) and finally in Manhattan Beach. She was so proud of her grandchildren; Megan, Justin and Ryan, whom she loved dearly. She will be missed on earth but is now having a great time catching up with friends and family in heaven. Her son Rob, daughter -in- law Jeanet and her grandchildren continue to celebrate her life. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Nov 9 at 9:30 am at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, CA followed by a gathering of family and friends in the St. Kateri Room. Her burial service will then be held at 3 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester in 1970 and daughter Kathy in 1987.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts can be made to the USC Kathy Mika endowed Scholarship and sent to Ron Orr USC Heritage Hall 3501 Watt Way LA Ca 90089-0602.
