Francis A. Atcher, 87, of the Franciscan Center in Louisville, died Saturday at Caritas Medical Center. He was retired from Sun Oil Co., a life member of the Louisville Federation of Musicians Local 11-637 and a former member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his son, James Anthony Atcher. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Louise Neuling Atcher; children, Patricia Chirichigno, Frances Roberts, Mike (Barbara) Atcher, Rev. Joseph Atcher, O.Carm., Steven (Mary) Atcher, Kathy (Alan) Lega and Paul (Susan) Atcher; a brother, J.R. (Evelyn) Atcher of West Point, KY; sisters, Josephine Leary of Middleton, MA, Leonora Wigginton and Mary George (Louis) Thompson; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Atcher and Betty Atcher; 15 grandchildren; six great-grand-children; and numerous nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 7335 Southside Dr., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at J.E. Ratterman & Son, family-owned, 7330 Southside Dr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of the Little Flower, 1313 Frontage Rd., Darien, IL 60561 or to Mass of the Air.
