Larry Gene Annett, 51, of Chicota died Sunday, Sept. 19, at his home after a battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 2 p.n. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the Chicota Baptist Church with the Reb. Billy Rose and the Rev. Bruce Burk officiating. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Annett was born Dec. 13, 1941, in Chicota, the third of five sons of Marvin Edward and Jessie Marie Seay Annett. He spent 21 years as a manager with W. T. Grant Co in Dallas, Memphis, Tenn., Little Rock, Ark. and Florida and with TG&Y Stores in Tyler before retiring in 1982. He returned to Chictoa in 1984. He was an active member of the Chictoa Baptist Church.
Surviving are his mother who lives in Chicota; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Fred Marshall and Natalie Marceal Carpenter Annett of New Orleans, La. and Larry Marvin DeWayne Annett of Chicota; two grandchildren, Nolan Ryan and Katherine Marceal Annett of New Orleans; three brothers, Wayne Edward Annett of Cullman, Ala., Jack Pat Annett of The Colony, and Perry Mike Annett of Katy. He was preceeded in death by his father and a brother, Milburn Winston Annett.
Pallbearers will be Ray Davis, Clarkson Sain, Donald Vanderburg, Jimmy Harold Vanderburg, Ron Shelton, Howard Hale, Billy Garner, and Glendle (PeeWee) Wharton.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Chicota Baptist Church Building Fund.
