James Raymond Clark, 88, of Mount Vernon, Missouri, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, MO. He was born July 27, 1918 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1944 he was united in marriage to Betty May, divorced in July of 1970. On June 12, 1983 in Sutter Co., CA, he was united in marriage to Virginia Nellie Burnett, preceding him in death.

Jim was born in Oklahoma, he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 40 years, moving to Missouri three years ago. He was employed as a mechanic and welder for many years in the Yuba-Sutter area and worked on the construction of the Oroville Dam. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, a former member of the Yuba City Moose Lodge, and a founder of the Yuba Sutter Bass Busters Fishing Club. He played lead guitar for many years with the Mooseketeers Band. He served as a heavy-duty mechanic in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Booker of Sacramento, CA; two sons, Jimmy Clark of Milo, MO and Rick Clark of Sebastopol, CA; a stepson, Dan "Boots" Johnson Sr. of Yuba City, CA; a stepdaughter, Janine Faye Bates of Santa Clara, CA; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verginia N. Clark, February 2, 2002.

Funeral services were held Wednesday July 11, 2007, at 10 a.m., as a graveside service at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave., Sutter, CA. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday July 10, 2007 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorials were ask to be given to Alzheimer's Research, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, CA 95812. Ullrey Memorial Chapel assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
