Gereline was born September 23, 1933 in Grapeland to parents Jim Wade Ashley and Lillie Bell Carter Ashley. She was a substitute teacher, helped her husband in their upholstery shop, devout caregiver, loving mother, mamma and memaw. She was a member of the Atoy Baptist Church.
Gereline is survived by daughters, Cheryl Schultz and husband, Wayne of Rusk, Pamela Mims of Rusk, Nancy Brouillette of Gonzales, LA; grandchildren, Joey Neel and wife, Lellia of Rusk, Leon Schultz and wife, Chelsea of Frankston, Trey Patton of Amarillo, Brandon Patton and wife, Julie of Ft. Worth, Tabitha Yrlas and husband, Ricky of Latexo, Heather Harvey and husband, Hollis of Latexo; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Bruce Schultz, Parker and Peyton Hartzog, Adreinne, Case and Mallie Jo Patton, Kade, Logan and Dresden Patton, Dakota Yrlas, Layla and Jude Cordova, Emberrose Harvey; brothers, Dock Ashley and wife, Evalena of Latexo, Bruce Ashley and wife, Eileen of Latexo; sisters, Glenda Coats of Columbia, LA, Bonnie Hamilton of Kingwood. She was preceded in death by husband, Joe A. Mims; sister, Ruby Brown; brothers, Sid Ashley, Junior Ashley, Wayne Ashley, Tommy Ashley, Wendall Ashley.
Funeral services for Alma Gereline Mims will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dan Rankin and Rev. Mike Bradford officiating. Interment will follow at the Milligan Cemetery. Family will receive friends for visitation Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. prior to service.
