Clarence Madison "C. M." Clayton, 73, of Fayetteville, passed away to our Lord on Monday (January 30, 2006) in his home, under the care of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bessie Caldwell Clayton.

He is survived by his wife, Belle Moon Clayton; his son and daughter-in-law, Scot and Carl Clayton, of Fayetteville; his daughter and son-in-law, Ed and Beth Clayton McCraken of Hendersonville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Surviving brothers and sisters include Johnny Clayton of Fayetteville, Earl Clayton of Decatur, Alabama, Ervin Clayton of Harvest, Alabama, Zelma Fudge of Nashville and Mildred Mullins of Nashville.

Mr. Clayton was survived by a retired Logistics Supply Specialist of Redstone Arsenal.

A memorial service was held at the Marantha Baptist Church on Friday, February 3, with Pastor Tommy Graham officiating.
