FUNERAL SERVICE HELD MONDAY FOR MRS. J. E. CRAIN

Final rites were held at the First Methodist Church here Monday, November 18 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Clara Esther Crain who died at her home in Center Valley Sunday morning at 8:35 after a prolonged illness. Rev. John D. West assisted by Rev. Mitchell held the service with the arrangements in charge if the Williams and Riley Funeral Home. Luther McGlothlin conducted the song service.

Mrs. Crain was born in Hamilton County May 8, 1898, and had lived in the county all of her life. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Loyd. She was a member of the Baptist church.

She was married to J. E. Crain July 23, 1916. He with their daughter, Mrs. Lucy Pearce, survive her. Other survivors are James Obie and Joe Lynn Pearce, her grandchildren, and a sister Mrs. Mary Jones; and a brother C. D. Loyd, and a half-sister, Mrs. Maude Loyd Thompson.

Pallbearers for the service were Bud Johnson, Pete Simpson, Irvin Jones, Jr., Garland Anglin, Frank Loyd, and Belvin Neie, of Fort Worth. Flower bearers included Mrs. Charlie Raibourn, Mrs. E. C. Gainous, Mrs. Frank Loyd, Mrs. J. C. Moreland, Hattie Mae Dunlop, Miss Maude Secrest, and Miss Elreeta Ann Crain.

Out of town relatives attending the service were Belvin Neie and family of Fort Worth, Mr. and Mrs. E. Smith of Houston, C. O. Lloyd and daughter, Betty of Houston; Mrs. John Kemp and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lloyd also of Houston; and Bertie Foster of Gatesville.

Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hamilton.
