Daughter of Wilhelm 'William' Misslich and Maria 'Agnes' Heinen or Keiner. On 12 May 1851, Margaretha immigrated to the U.S. on the Ship Dorcus Prince with her parents, a sister (Mary Catherine) and three brothers (Albert, Paul and Anton/Anthony). The ship had taken them from Havre, France to New York. A short time later, Margaretha married Henry Adams and they settled in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Margaretha's parents, sister and three brothers moved to Keyesville, Wisconsin and spent the rest of their lives in that location. Margaretha married Henry Adams. Their children were Agnes Adams, John Quincy Adams, Hubertina Catherine Adams (AKA Tina N. Hengell), Rosa Adams, Laura Adams, Charlotte Mary Adams (AKA Carlotta) and Josephine Adams (AKA Josie).
