Talia Williams was declared dead after having suffered a beating, her Hawaiian-based U.S. Army father admitting to military authorities he was attempting to discipline the child for wetting herself.
On July 16, at about 5:45 p.m. emergency personnel received a 911 call from a resident at an apartment complex at Wheeler Army Airfield in Hawaii concerning a child in possible cardiac arrest. When they arrived, Talia was found unresponsive with no pulse. The emergency personnel were able to briefly revive the child. But she again went into arrest.
She was then transported to Wahiawa General Hospital. Upon arrival, Talia was pronounced dead.
"Talia was a happy loving Angel; she touched many hearts and souls; she loved to do many things, especially sing" as described by her mother.

The military charged Naeem Williams(father) with murder on July 28, but later transferred the case to the U.S. Attorney's office. His wife, Delilah Williams,(stepmother) 21, was charged by criminal complaint on a single count of first-degree murder on July 18.
