Sarah was the daughter of William and Sarah Morse Gorrill from England and New York City. She married Benjamin C. Eberly on 23 November 1869 in Wood County, and they had William (1875), Gertrude Helen (1877), Jennie (1879), Benjamin Roy (1882), Harry (1885), Charles (1887), and Ellen Elizabeth (1892). Sarah died from cerebral apoplexy at the age of 88 years and 11 months.
