Daniel Allison, 75, of Old Hwy. 70 West, Old Fort, died Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Asheville.
He was a native and lifelong resident of McDowell County.
He was the son of the late J. Fred and Essie Griffin Allison.
He was a member of Greenlee Baptist Church and was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired employee of Old Fort Finishing Co.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Hicks Allison; three sons: David Allison and his wife, Karen, of Charlotte, NC, Daniel E. Allison and his wife, Denisa, of Sydney, Australia, and Douglas Allison and his wife, Bridget, of Weddington, NC; his daughter, Dana Allison Davis and her husband, Reid, of Eufaula Alabama; a brother, Joseph H. Allison of Old Fort; two sisters: Margie Allison Harmon of Hickory and Jean Allison Creekmore of Old Fort; eight grandchildren: Nicole Davis Cornell, Mason Davis, Nicholas Allison, Lucas Allison, Kathryn Allison, Meghan Allison, Chelsea Allison, and Grayson Allison; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Cornell.
Burial was at McDowell Memorial Park in Marion.
