Mary was born in Constantine, Michigan. She was the Valedictorian of her senior class and went on to Hillsdale College. Mary became an elementary school teacher after graduation. While at Hillsdale, she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.
Mary and her family relocated to Wisconsin in the late 1970’s and she continued to teach part time while raising her family. Mary had a passion for music and her faith. She was the choir director at St. James in Mukwonago for many years and was a featured soloist at the church. Mary was often requested to sing at weddings and funerals by many of the churchgoers. She sang for more than 40 years at St. James. Mary was also a member of the Mukwonago Choral Union and was the past president of the Christian Mother’s (Women) at St. James on multiple occasions.
Mary is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert (Bob), her children Laura, Mike (Wendy), and Anne (Robert) Sevier, her four grandchildren; Ava, Brock, Dylan, and Belle and her brother John Drake.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Titus Sr. and Florence Drake and her brothers Jim and Titus Jr.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the caring staff at Oak Hill Terrance, East Troy Manor and Vitas Healthcare Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23 at St. James Catholic Church (830 E. Veteran’s Way, Mukwonago) from 4:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 6:00 PM. Fr. Loyola Amalraj will officiate the Mass. Burial will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
