Zachariah Taylor Sneed served in the War of 1812. He and his family are enumerated in the 1850 census, dated 9 Dec 1850, residing in Bradley County, Tennessee. He is identified as Taylor Snead [sic] in the 1850 census.

He is named in the will of his father, Robert Sneed, of Wake County, North Carolina, in which he is referred to as Zachariah T. Sneed (Wake County, North Carolina Wills, Inventories and Settlements 1845-1850, page 169).
