Dan spent his childhood at the Trinchera Ranch in Blanca and his early teen years in Monte Vista. He then moved with his parents to Springfield, VA, where he graduated from Annandale High School. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma University, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. After college, he returned to Monte Vista where he married Karla Jean Miner, with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage. They raised two daughters and a granddaughter. Danny owned and operated Burns Pharmacy in Monte Vista for nearly 30 years. He remained in town through retirement enjoying life with his beloved wife and his beautiful river property as well as winters in sunny Arizona. Survivors beside Karla included: daughters Stacey and Tamara; granddaughter Thiery; and siblings Karen, Sharen and Sam. He loved spending time with family, working on his property and water skiing. He loved people and he loved making them laugh. Services held December 29th at the Sargent Community Church. Memorial donations made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as saving lives of children with cancer was close to his heart. Arrangements by Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista
