Dan was a professor of education for doctorial students at Stanford and USC and for two summers he taught US students who were seeking their doctorial degree under the USC progam in Heidelberg, Germany. He wrote math textbooks and spoke nationally in the field of education. He served as the Executive Secretary of the California School of Administrators Assn. for many years. He passed away from complications with cancer.
