Daily Herald, The (Everett, WA) - Tuesday, April 5, 2005∼Marie Evelyn Donisthorpe, 88, of Mountain Home, Idaho, formerly of Snohomish, Washington, passed away Thursday March 10, 2005, at a local care center.
Marie was born on September 11, 1916, in Christina, Montana, to Paul and Ramona (Davis) Donisthorpe. Marie was the second of five children. She was raised on a ranch and married in 1932. Marie had three children, David and Ramona, by her first marriage, and son, William, by her second marriage.
Marie left Montana and went to Alaska in 1941. She left Alaska because of World War II and went to Washington, California, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Hawaii and back to Washington, where she met and married Clifton Blacken in 1953. She worked for many years as a waitress. In Washington she was active in the Eagles Auxiliary, in the Everett area, serving in many offices including chapter president in Everett. She moved to Snohomish, Washington, when her husband, Cliff Blacken, passed way in 1989.
Marie is survived by her two sons, David Gossett and William Hansen; brother Oscar Donis-thorpe; sister, Grace Longinetti; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Marie moved to Mountain Home, Idaho, in 2002 to be closer to her son, David.
Memorial services will be held in Snohomish, Washington at a later date. Cremation under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Idaho.
