Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport for Henry Michael who died Sunday at Melrose Area Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Golden Years Senior Citizens will pray at 4:00 p.m., parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. followed by St. Joseph's Society at 8:30 p.m.
Henry Michael was born in Freeport to Henry Sr. and Gertrude (Muyres) Michael. He married Clara Middendorf on August 24, 1937, in Freeport. The couple farmed near Freeport until their retirement in 1971. Henry enjoyed fishing, carpentry work and helping his sons on their farms. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport and St. Joseph's Society.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Michael of Freeport; children Jerry Michael (Clara) of St. Rosa, David Michael (Cyrilla) of Freeport, Judy Timp (Jerry) of Freeport, John Michael (Carolyn) of Maple Grove; 19 grandchildren; sister, Hildegarde Krebsbach of Waite Park.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr. and Gertrude Michael; brothers, Lambert, Leonard and Arnold Michael; sisters, Agnes Bohnen, Sophia Goebel, Anna Litchy, Gertrude Gill and Georgina Rieland.
