William A Blevins was born on November 16, 1942 in Seagraves, TX to LJ and Ilavern Blevins. He passed into God’s loving arms on October 16, 2019 in Baytown, TX.
William was a lifelong resident of Baytown, TX. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving in heavy artillery from 1966 to 1968. He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, a lifetime member and committeeman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a charter member of the Ruger Collectors Association and the Ruger Owners and Collectors Society. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman, and had a lifelong love of horses. He loved spending time with family, dancing, and traveling.
He married LInda L. Hanson on February 8, 1964 and was blessed with 55 years of loving marriage and a growing family.
William retired from DuPont in 1999, after 33 years of devoted service.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, JoFrances West.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his daughter Terri Garland and husband Michael of Conroe, TX, his son Dr. Cris Blevins of San Antonio, 3 granddaughters Brittney Sanders and husband David of Grandview, TX, Bailee Hilderbrand and husband Keith of Iredell, TX, and Tristen Carnley of Pleasanton, TX, 5 great grandchildren Logan Hilderbrand, Kason Sanders, Rylan Young, Coy Sanders, and Linnie Hilderbrand, sister-in-law Pat Blankenship and brother-in-law Mark Blankenship of Georgetown, TX, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society and/or the Wounded Warrior Project.
