Miriam's mother, Blanch (Carr) Hallock died in child birth when Graydon Hallock was born and Miriam was 10. The younger children (Ronald, Hester and Graydon) were taken in by family members. Miriam grew up in the convent/nunnery near Springview, Nebraska. Miriam graduated with high grades and became a school teacher. She married John Mithofer and together shared their life farming with daughter, Mona Jean Mithofer (1928-2018). She was a wonderful Grandmother and taught us all about God, family, life, hard work and common sense. She donated her time and work in a ladies club that made treats, etc., sold them at the livestock auctions and raised money for the local hospitals where she lived. Once Miriam and John had grandchildren, they moved to be near to the family. They lived in Deer Park, WA., Othello, WA, and then Stevensville, MT.
