Hewett was a civilian employee of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for the past 23 years.
Surviving are his widow, Audrey; three daughters, Mrs. Sue Hovatter in New Jersey; the Misses Deborah Gail and Sherie, both at home; three grandchildren; three brothers, Walker, Mantie and Leo Hewett and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Sellers, Mrs. Nellie Sellers and Mrs. Grace Holden, all in North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 7:30 p. m., Sunday at the Charles J. Andres' Sons Funeral Home, where funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Tom Wedsworth, officiating.

Services for Bartley E. Hewett were held this afternoon in the Andres Funeral Home, the Rev. Tom Wedsworth, officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: William and Eugene Barnhart, Virgil Preston, Elmer Hovatter, Carl Warnell and Frank Schneider.
