Steven M. Afienko, Sr., 62, of Whitman, formerly of Pembroke, MA died on February 27, of natural causes.

Born in Boston, he was predeceased by his parents Alexander, Sr. and Gladys Afienko. He is survived by his son Steven M., Jr., of West Yarmouth, his granddaughter Katrina and his longtime love and companion Paula Murphy of Bridgewater. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy McMahon of Plymouth, Linda and husband Ronald Bernard of Florida and his brother, Lawrence and his wife Mona of Norwell as well as, aunts, uncles, multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his brother, Alexander, Jr.

He proudly served in the US Navy and is a Vietnam Era Veteran. After his service, he was employed as a CDL driver. He especially loved trips to Martha’s Vineyard with Paula and Nascar racing events with his son, Steven.

A private burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
