Esther R. Servies, 90, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on April 19, 2009 in her home.

A native of Versailles, IN, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Elinor Shoemaker, and the widow of Leslie R. Servies. She retired from Civil Service as a Clerk with the Naval Supply Center. She was a member of Haygood United Methodist Church, its choir and the Clara McCormick Circle of the church.

She is survived by one daughter; one son; one brother; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Esther was predeceased by a son-in-law, Jim Wicks; and two brothers, James Shoemaker and Robert Shoemaker.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Brighton Gardens for all their care they have given her over the last 4 ½ years.

A funeral service was conducted on Wednesday at 1 PM at Haygood United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Shumate officiating. The burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
