Steven "Dan" Warren Brown of Big Falls, Minn., died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at Northome Healthcare Center, Northome, Minn. He was 59 years of age.
Born Feb. 16, 1948 to Reo and Nina Brown in International Falls, Minn., Dan grew up in Littlefork and graduated from Littlefork-Big Falls High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. In 1983 he moved to Big Falls and had lived there since.
Dan worked as a truck driver and sawyer for Page & Hill Forest Products. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, farming, playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Tiny Brown.
Dan is survived by his significant other and best friend, Reba Kessler of Big Falls, Minn.; his son, Warren (Justina) Brown of International Falls, Minn.; step daughters, Dotha Kessler of Yankton, S.D., and April Kessler of the Falls; stepson, Andrew (Michelle) Kessler of Lesterville, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Alan (Irene) Brown of Lapine, Ore., Tom Brown of Big Falls, Minn., and Tim (Debbie) Brown of Littlefork., Minn.; sisters, Darlene Belanger of International Falls, Cookie (Larry) Bussinger of Bloomington, Minn., and Hazel Bloom of the Falls.
Funeral services with full military rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Littlefork Free Church, with the Rev. Tom Winkelman officiating.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Loman, Minn.
