HERSHEY - Lester W. Abel, Sr., 58, of 143 Oak Lane, Hershey, died Tuesday at 2 pm in Harrisburg Hospital. He was a York County native and husband of the late Elizabeth M. Abel. Employed by AMP, Inc. at Harrisburg, Mr. Abel was a former drafting instructor at the Milton Hershey School. He was a member of Derry Presbyterian Church, Brownstone Lodge 666, Free and Accepted Masons of Hershey, Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Temple, and was a founder and member of the Derry Township Camping Association. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Survivors are a daughter, Elizabeth A. Higgins, South Hampton, Pa., a son, Lester W. Abel, Jr., at home; a brother, Glenn Abel, Charlotte, NC; his stepmother, Mrs. Dora Abel, and a step brother, Chester Boyd, both of New York. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11am at the Derry Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ora O. Reed, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in Hershey Cemetery.
