Charles Hiatt, 90, 2400 N. Wheeling Ave., died Friday in Community Care Center after a long illness.
Mr. Hiatt was born in Muncie, attended city schools and retired from Broderick's in 1964. He had also worked for Ball Brothers (now Ball Corp.).
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Helen Overcash Hiatt; a daughter, Dorothy Thomas, Muncie; a son, Charles L. Hiatt (wife: Rosalie), Muncie; a stepdaughter, Joyce Dungan, Muncie; a sister, Evelyn Sayne, Muncie; a sister-in-law, Pearl Hiatt, Mount Pleasant; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A daughter, Ondoise Smith; his parents, William E. and Minnie Harrell Hiatt, and three brothers, Lester Hiatt, Earl Hiatt, and Donald Hiatt, are deceased.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling will be 2 to 5 p.m. today at the mortuary.
