James Hearold Adams, age 99 years 10 months and 5 days, passed away at the home of his daughter in Deer, Arkansas on September 30, 2019.

He was born November 25, 1919 in Limestone Valley in Newton County, Arkansas to the late Floyd and Nannie L. Brown Adams. He was a retired farmer.

On September 25, 1939 in Jasper, Arkansas he married Doris Robinson who preceded him in death on July 2, 2017 after nearly 78 years of marriage.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Verla and Vernie Heydenreich of Deer, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, A.C. and Doris Adams of Sikeston; four grandchildren, Mitchell Shaw, Kimberly Shaw, Samuel Adams, and, Sarah Norman; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Shaw, Wesley Shaw, Katherine Norman, and Robbie Norman; and one great-great-grandson, Parker Adam Shaw, who was born October 2, 2019. One journey ends and another begins.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Wallas Adams; six brothers, Leonard, Delmar, Hershel, Robert, Billy, and James Adams; and one sister, Sammie Adams Tinnon.

Visitation is scheduled Friday, October 4, from 5 to 5:30 p.m. for family and 5:30 to 8 p.m. for friends at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5. Pastor Jerry Adams and Pastor Donald Adams will be officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Shaw, Wesley Shaw, Mitchell Shaw, Vernie Heydenreich, Paul Wallace King, Matt Bolen, and Daniel Adams.
