He was a member of Seven Oaks Church of Christ, member of IBEW Local #816, an Air Force Veteran, and retired from Continental General Tire and Rubber Co.
Mr. Jones is survived by two sons, Tommy (Brenda) Jones of Mayfield, KY, and Michael (Joyce) Jones of St. Augustine, FL; two daughters, Judy (Ronnie) Wilkerson, and Deborah (Joe) Dalton both of Mayfield, KY; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Cooper Jones; two sisters, Mary Jones and Linda Hoskins; parents were Lloyd and Vertie Small Jones.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:30 PM Tuesday October 8, 2018 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Josh Ketchum will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until 3:30PM Tuesday October 8, 2019 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to; New Pathways for Children, PO Box 10 Melber, KY 42069.
