David traveled all over the world while working as a civil service employee for the U.S. Government. He retired as a management analyst for the Naval Station in Great Lakes, Illinois in 2013.
He was married to Beatrice Anita Garcia, (1942-2008), in Albuquerque, New Mexico . They had three children; Matthew, Melissa and Cynthia.. Later he remarried to Misuk. They were married 25 years and had one son and one daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother (Ronald), and a daughter, Cynthia, (1975-2006).
He is survived by his wife, Misuk; his daughters Melissa and Nara, (her husband, David Lee); his sons, Matthew and Woong (Myeongsun). (He adopted Woong when he was 13. ) four grandchildren; sister, Sherill Fosland and her husband, John; special nephew David Fosland and special niece, Julie Fosland and several nieces and their families.
David led a full life and passed in peace. His special passions were Deering and baseball. He also enjoyed many years of exercising and socializing at the Mel Korum Family YMCA. There he greeted many a member by name and with a smile that made everyone he knew feel that they were special and belonged. Many knew him only as Dave. His passing was deeply felt.
