Nancy E. Adkins
September 24, 1935 - October 3, 2019 Nancy E. Adkins passed away October 3, 2019. She was born September 24, 1935, in Richmond to Robert Edwin and Martha Harter Groff and has been a lifelong resident of Richmond.

In 1954 Nancy entered the Holy Cross Central School of Nursing, South Bend and received her RN degree and license. She practiced nursing for a short time until she met and married the love of her life Raymond Adkins. After raising their three children Nancy volunteered at the Wayne County Historical Museum. She spent many hours designing and painting displays for the museum artifacts.

Nancy went on to create many works of art. She worked in many mediums to include watercolor, pen and ink, acrylics, oils, paper mache and clay. Her works have won several prestigious awards including the Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage Arts, Richmond Art Museum, Art Association of Randolph County, Darke County Fair and many others.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Adkins, her brother Bob Groff (Pat), daughter Lynn Chirinsky (Ben) of Ponte Vedra, Florida, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Dane Adkins and son Tiffin Adkins.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.m. Wednesday October 9, 2019 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Groff officiating. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery.
