Ruth Ann Trusty was born at Oscar, Mo., March 18, 1870, and passed away at her home near Licking Sunday morning, March 5, 1939, age 68 years, 11 months and 15 days.
She was united in marriage to John S. Cantrell in December, 1897, and to this union were born three children, John Homer, and Earl W. Cantrell, of Texas County, and Alma Oneida Reed, of Maud, Oklahoma, all of whom were present for the funeral. Her husband, John S. Cantrell, died in 1904.
In June, 1930, she was married to Evan W. Barnes and has been happy and contented in their home.
She was converted and joined the Baptist church at Boone Creek at the age of 17 years. After her marriage to Mr. Barnes she joined the Licking Baptist church where he had his membership. Mrs. Barnes has lived a quiet, faithful christian life and in her passing leaves the above named children, two grand children, her devoted husband, one brother, Lochiel Trusty, and four sisters, Mrs. Callie Sutton, Mrs. Belle Mayfield, Mrs. Jennie Ramsey, and Mrs. W.E. DeForest, to mourn her going. Also one stepson and family and three step-daughters, who have been devoted and loving.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday afternoon by Rev. Alphus Capps, of Ellington, and burial in the Vancleve cemetery.
