Loving mother and grandmother passed away Monday January 4, 2016 at St. Francis Home. Age 95 years. Daughter of the late George and Julia (Bacyznski) Bukaweski, Eleanor was born August 8, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was employed at Lufkin Rule and Fullerton Tool. Eleanor married George Slancik. He predeceased her in 1965. She then married Eugene Heilmann in 1970. He predeceased her in 1991. Eleanor was a member of St. George Catholic Church, its Altar Society and many other organizations. She enjoyed reading and word searches.
Surviving are one daughter, Diane LaMountain, Saginaw; four granddaughters, Jennifer LaMountain, Saginaw; Jill and Chris Marhelko, Hazelton, PA; Jenelle and Kurt Phibbs, Saginaw; Julie LaMountain, Ferndale; seven great-grandchildren, Shane, Matthew and Eric Fletcher, Cooper, Landon, Jake and Lauren Phibbs; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, Kathy Curry, Liz Vesuri and William Pringle. Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Slancik and a son-in-law, Richard LaMountain.
Honoring Mrs. Heilmann’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church site, 3680 S. Washington, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Thomas Schmied, OFM Cap. will officiate with burial of cremains in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Parish or charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Snow Funeral Home, Saginaw, Michigan.
