EMMETT BRICKELS, RETIRED GROCER, TAKEN BY DEATH
March 26- Emmett Wilbur Brickels, 75, retired grocer, died at 4 p.m. Sunday at his home in North Main Street. He had been ill the past two years and had been seriously ill a week.
Mr. Brickles operated a grocery in South Main Street for a number of years and later had a grocery at the residence in North Main Street. After discontinuing that business Mr. and Mrs. Brickels had a rest home at the same location, but were forced to retire from that business after Mr. Brickles became ill. Active in politics, Mr. Brickels had served as Democratic precinct committeeman for many years.
The son of Winfield Scott and Cassie (Anderson) Brickels, he was born August 18, 1875 in Belmont, and was united in marriage with Daisy Hughes. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving besides the widow of the home, is one brother, Harry Brickels of Granville. Three Brothers and a sister are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Law &Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. W. M. Lockard will officiate and burial will be made in Bell Cemetery, east of Utica, Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
