The Thomas Tribune, Thomas, OK, Thurs., Sept. 23 1920, p. 1:
"The death of Miss Irene Abercrombie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Young Abercrombie, which occurred Sunday morning removed an excellent young lady from the teaching force of Blaine county. Miss Abercrombie was twenty years old when her spirit took its flight across the great divide.
"Funeral services were held at Fay on Monday, conducted by Rev. W. S. Dearing of this city. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Frans attended the sad obsequy."

The Cordell Beacon, Cordell, OK, Thurs. Sept. 23, 1920, p. 1:
Rocky (Oklahoma) News: "Miss Irene Abercrombie, a member of our faculty, was taken to her home at Fay, Oklahoma, on September 12th, and one week later passed away. Her death was caused by typhoid fever and was a great shock to all. Memorial services were held Monday at 11 A. M. in the school auditorium by Rev. Stout."

Gravesite Details

Irene's parent moved away from Oklahoma 2 years after she died. It isn't known if she ever had a tombstone or if the tombstone deteriorated over time.
