Rose Louise Cole Akins, 82, went home to be with the Lord September 29, 2019. Born February 17, 1937 in De Land, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Tom Cole, Sr. and Cherry Carter Cole.She attended DeLand public schools and graduated from Euclid High School, class of 1955. She enjoyed playing basketball during her school years.
Rose was employed by Fish Memorial Hospital, Stetson University and Sherwood Medical Center. She was a YMCA Black Achievers volunteer. She found pleasure in her enjoyment of fishing, and involvement with church ministries.
She leaves to cherish her fond memory: Sister: Ruby Ashley, Grandsons: Kenon (Leslie) Akins, Crandall (Amanda) Akins, Great-Grandchildren: Tiana, Crandall, Jr., and Kendall Akins, Jaiden and Gauge Smith. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by: Son: Kendall Akins, Brothers: Eddie Lee Cole and Tom Cole, Jr., brother-in-law: Rev. Calvin Ashley.
