Alvin was the son of Thomas B. and Rozanna Nowlin Miller. He had lived in McAlester for over 60 years where he worked mainly as a house builder and was construction foreman on the construction of Arrowhead Lodge. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include the mother of his children, Vada Miller Hill of McAlester; two daughters and son in law, Mary Disilvestro of McAlester and Naomi and R. B. Leadford of Tulsa; a son and daughter in law, Newman and Ivonne Miller of Eufaula; ten grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a brother, Edgar Howard of Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ethel Posey, Bertha Wilhelm and Bessie Sullivan; two brothers, Charles Grover McClure and Alford Wallace McClure; and a grandson, Steven Hatfield.
