Church, Fort Branch 1869-71; principal Owensville Seminary, Ind., 1871-72; moved to Nebraska, 1873; superintendent public schools, Wahoo, Neb., 1874-76; elected to the Nebraska State Senate from the Sixteenth District, 1877; superintenent of public schools, Gettysburg, Kan., 1879-83; established a grade school at Logan, Kan., 1884; delegate to the reunion of the Grand Army of the Republic, Minneapolis, 1885; president McPherson Normal College, Republican City, Neb., 1886-87; moved to the Pacific Coast, 1888; president of an incorporated company that laid out Falls City, Polk county, Ore., 1889; superintendent of public schools, Buena Vista and Dallas, Ore., 1889-91; retired on account of failing health, 1892; member of Company C, Fifty-eighth Regiment Indiana Volunteers, three years.
