A self-employed businessman, Bobby owned and operated CBA Transportation in Grenada for many years. He was an active member of The Pentecostals of Grenada where he served as an usher and worked alongside his wife as Co-Director of the “GAP”(Golden Age Pentecostals). Mr. Avery honorably served our country in the US Army and will be remembered as a man of integrity whose love for his Saviour and family was unwavering.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2019 at The Pentecostals of Grenada. Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at McKibben and Guinn and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
Survivors include four daughters, Kim Melton(Jerry) of Coldwater, Loretta Jackson(John) of Tillatoba, Tammie Shankle(Barry) of Calhoun City and Becky Brogan(Steve) of Grenada; four sons, Dewey Avery(Viki) of Grenada, Wendall Lance(Donna) of Biloxi, Bobby G. Avery(Janice) of Grenada and Gene Lance(Becky) of Grenada; 28 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carolyn Avery.
Pallbearers will be Jody Ballard, Kevin Hughes, Everette Loper, Trae Miller, Devonn Tipton and Steve Tipton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Claude Elliott, Mike Kennedy and Joey Singley.
