Ollie Ruth Abercrombie Mashburn, 85, of Glencoe, Alabama, passed away early Saturday morning, September 21, 2019 at Coosa Valley Health Care in Glencoe following a brief illness. She was a native of Etowah County and was the daughter of the late Earnie Lois and Thelma Ollie Smith Abercrombie.

Mrs. Mashburn was a graduate of Sansom High School in Gadsden and of Baptist College - Birmingham and University of Alabama in Birmingham, earning a degree in Nursing.  She worked many years as a nurse, retiring from VA Hospital in Birmingham in 1984.  After retirement, she was employed at Boaz Nursing Home for a number of years.  She enjoyed sewing and needlework and loved animals, especially cats and Chihuahua dogs.

Graveside services were held Monday morning, September 23, at Rainbow Memorial Park in Gadsden.  Carr Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her sons, William Christopher Tyndall of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Joseph Lynn Dye of Glencoe; her sister, Mrs. Margaret A. Fuhrman of Southside.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Don Louis Tyndall, Jr., one brother, Charles Edward Abercrombie and one sister, Frances E. Boyd.
