James grew up to be an adult. He is in the 1860 Franklin Co., IN census with W.T. and Mary Ann Davenport as James E., age 3. He is in the 1870 Boone Co., IN census with his father as age 13 under Devenport. James Edward Davenport's father remarried in Apr 1871 and then died in Aug 1871. I believe James moved back to Franklin County, Indiana and in the 1880 census is living as a nephew with James and Kate Williams, age 23, farm laborer. I believe James Edward Davenport married their daughter, his first cousin, Emma Alice Williams on Jan 27, 1881 in Franklin Co., IN. (Emma died Jan 24, 1927 in Yorktown, Delaware Co., IN). James and Emma had a daughter, Adah (born May 22, 1882 in Franklin Co., IN) and then 3 sons, Ralph Hubert (1886-1966), Harold Alfred (1888-1967) and Earl (1894-1980).
