Samuel W. Tewksbury, 85, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 in the Achieve Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY. Born in Scott Center, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob Z. and Clara Sanford Tewksbury. Samuel graduated with honors from Hancock High School and also graduated from Radio and TV School. He ran A TV and Radio repair business from the Brown's Store in Galilee for over thirty years and made many service calls to his customers' homes in Damascus Township and the surrounding area. Samuel started a cable service in Galilee and was considered a pioneer in the cable industry. He resided most of his life in Galilee and was of the Methodist faith. His interests included a love of nature, walking his dog and studying the stock market. He is survived by three nephews: James Wrighter of Alabama, Jack Wrighter of Tennessee, and William Wrighter of Tennessee ; three nieces, Beatrice Brown of Lebanon, Pa , Anna Johnson of Florida, and Grace Hutto of Florida; five grand-nephews and seven grand nieces. He was preceded in death by three brothers: James, Lawrence, and Milton Tewksbury; three sisters, Grace Tewksbury, Emily Wrighter, Edna Brown, and a nephew, George Gilchrist. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 12:00 Noon in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, Pa with Rev. Stuart Hunt of the Damascus Baptist Church. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11:00-12:00 until the time of the service. There will be a luncheon following the service. Interment will be in the Shehawken Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made to the Damascus Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P. O. Box 63, Damascus, PA 18415.
