Mrs Betty Shaw Takes Own Life Sat Morning
General despondency and confusion is believed to have been the cause of the suicide here Saturday morning of Mrs Betty Shaw, 27, who took her own life by inhaling carbon monoxide gas after sealing herself in an automobile.
She left a note addressed to her sister, Mrs Dulce Freitas of Sonora, stating: "To Dear Dulce, I am too tired to go on. I hold no feelings against anyone."
Leaving Sonora early Saturday morning, she appeared in good spirits. About 8 o'clock the same morning, Harvey Duchow of Sonora found her body near the Faxon mine just north of the city.
Surviving is her husband, Elmer Shaw, Sonora; her mother Mrs M P Questo, Phoenix Lake; a half sister, two half brothers and her father, believed to be living in Stockton.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Burden Chapel.
